Brady's Early Edge in Recruiting
Brady
Michigan State University ’26
2025 Investment Banking Summer Analyst, Moelis & Company
Brady—a driven FMI Scholar and Adventis Student Trainer—epitomizes how early engagement with Adventis helps students move from campus to careers at top firms like Moelis & Company.
Brady first engaged with the Adventis FMC® Program prior to joining the FMI, enrolling in a boot camp during his freshman year. At a time when many students were just beginning to explore finance, Brady was already building the skills necessary to stand out in one of the most selective organizations on campus.
"The earlier you get your feet wet with Adventis, the better. That knowledge compounds over time, and by the time interviews come around, you're more technically competent and confident than most other candidates."
By the time FMI applications opened during his sophomore year, Brady had not only earned his certification—he had already begun helping others on their recruiting journey.
Why Adventis Became Brady's Advantage
For Brady, the FMC® Program delivered more than just a technical foundation—it gave him a framework to lead, teach, and succeed:
Interactive, Hands-On Learning That Stuck:
"With Adventis, you're actually in Excel, building models, seeing things change, and learning by doing. That hands-on experience makes all the difference—especially for students who don't retain much from watching YouTube or reading a guide."
Stronger Interview Performance and Employer Confidence:
"Adventis came up in a lot of my interviews, and recruiters were genuinely interested in hearing more about my Adventis certification and involvement as a trainer with Adventis. I was asked fewer technical questions because interviewers knew I had the foundation."
Feedback That Drives Real Growth:
"The feedback you get from the exams is incredibly valuable. If you take it seriously and learn from it, you won't make the same mistake twice. I definitely learned that the hard way, but it helped me improve quickly."
Leading as an Adventis Student Trainer and FMI Scholar
As an Adventis Student Trainer and FMI Scholar, Brady has taken on a leadership role in shaping FMI's technical training pipeline. He co-leads boot camps on campus, mentors underclassmen, and helps integrate Adventis into FMI's recruiting prep strategy.
"When you're in a room with 10–15 people building models, it's easier to stay focused and not give up. You don't want to be the person who bails. The boot camps create community and accountability."
Brady also advocates for formalizing Adventis as part of the academic experience. He's currently working to embed the program into a new one-credit freshman spring course designed to introduce students to high-finance recruiting.
From Michigan State to Moelis & Company
Brady's initiative and preparation paid off: he secured a 2025 Investment Banking Summer Analyst offer at Moelis & Company, a global leader in investment banking. His Adventis certification—and the technical confidence it instilled—played a key role in that journey.
"There aren't many programs that actually review your Excel file and give detailed feedback like Adventis does. That level of engagement prepared me in ways other programs didn't."
Brady's Advice for Students Considering Adventis
"If you're serious about high-finance recruiting, Adventis gives you the technical edge. The earlier you start, the more everything—your classes, your interviews, your internships—starts to click. It's one of the most impactful things you can do as a freshman or sophomore."
Elevating Technical Interview Prep Through the FMC® Program at Michigan State University
